Over the past year and a half I have been overly committed to learning to code and write software, specifically by reading the O'Reilly Publishing Headfirst series of Books. But unfortunately, other things start to creep in to my current endeavors and I get too stoked and start veering off course.
In addition to the above, I have my commitment to keep my blogs going and sharpening my writing and design skills. This is just stuff that pertains to the Internet and Computers at large, but I also have made three very deep promises to myself.
A. Lose close to 100 pounds over the next 1-2 years, with majority of help from My Fitness Pal
B. Ride my fixed gear bicycle as much as humanly possible which translates into 12-13 miles daily.
C. Within two years when I pay down some more debt, I plan on starting to take formal tae kwon do lessons, and in the interim study it, via youtube.
Also, while reading Head First Books, I have to also keep it together, by reading other types of non-fiction or fiction books, cover to cover, and then reviewing them. As some of you already know I have been reading alot of DiscWorld series books, but next I am going to read a non-fiction piece entitled “Tribe” by Sebastion Junger. This book is reaching out to me, just begging me to read it. So…
So in a nutshell I gotta stop getting so crazy and focus appropriately on a finite and manageable number of things.
Multitasking is so beyond overrated and also can potentially set you up for a major fail, but hey don’t take my word for it.
So for now….
End of story.
